At KC Birth Co., our goal is to help mothers enter pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood with confidence and peace. We believe women deserve clear information about their options and the opportunity to prepare for the journey ahead. Through education, resources, and networking opportunities, we help mothers navigate the many decisions that come with motherhood. Most importantly, we encourage women to trust their instincts, ask questions, and lean into the support systems around them so they can step into motherhood feeling capable and confident.

In today’s culture, women are often exposed to mixed messages about pregnancy and motherhood—from dramatic portrayals in Hollywood to fear-based lessons taught in school. This can leave many women wondering what is actually normal, how to stay healthy during pregnancy, what birth will really be like, what to expect with a newborn, and how to balance life as their family grows. KC Birth Co. is here to help bridge that gap. We provide a space where women can connect, learn from others, and gain insight into pregnancy, birth, and motherhood—while still making those experiences their own.

Who are we?

KC Birth Co was founded by Ashton Yoder, a birth coach, birth educator, and mother of four.

My journey into birth support began with my own experiences—welcoming two babies in a hospital setting and two at home. While each birth was meaningful, the most powerful difference wasn’t the location—it was the level of education, support, and confidence I had. Experiencing both sides showed me how vital it is for women to feel informed, empowered, and supported through every stage of motherhood.

That realization led to the creation of KC Birth Co.

Where did we start?

Ashton Yoder Founder of KC Birth Co

I completed my doula certification through DONA International in 2021. Since then, I have supported families through birth education classes and attended births in a variety of settings, including hospitals, birthing centers, and home births.

There are so many misconceptions surrounding pregnancy, birth, and motherhood, and many women enter this season feeling uncertain or unsupported. I personally experienced the difference between constantly questioning myself and feeling uninformed versus feeling empowered, educated, and confident in trusting both my body and my baby. Having access to knowledge, support, and evidence-based resources completely changed my birth experiences and ultimately led me to this work.

My passion is helping families feel confident, informed, empowered, and supported as they prepare to welcome their babies. I understand firsthand that every birth and every family is unique, and I’m honored to walk alongside parents during such a meaningful and transformative season of life.

“A confident mother isn’t one who has all the answers — it’s one who learns to trust her instincts, embrace her strength, and know she is enough for her baby.”
